The Balloonamations team has learned a lot of really neat balloon ideas from DVDs, VHS tapes, seminars, classes and balloon jams. We love to discover new ways of constructing balloons, new designs, bigger, cooler, neater stuff!
Along the way, we have had to come up with some balloon sculptures that we didn’t actually know how to do……someone needs a really cool balloon for a construction party, or the birthday kid really loves “Stellar Conflicts,” or some character from their favorite TV show …..you get the idea. So, we have come up with some semi-unique designs that have gotten some incredible customer response.
Now, we are doing our part to increase the overall quality of balloon art by producing an instructional DVD. Below are the first 4 items that will be featured on the DVD; we will also be showing an awesome alien hat; a super detailed pirate ship, and maybe an army tank as well. We’ll let you know when the DVD will be available for sale.

We recently attended some balloon decorating classes up in Oklahoma City, OK. The instructor was Nadia Azar — an absolutely  fantastic balloon artist! We would like to thank all the sponsors for , well, sponsoring this event and especially the Oklahoma QBN bunch for putting on a great event! And we want to really thank Nadia for expanding our balloon decoration skills and abilities!
We are constantly  trying to learn new techniques and designs so that we can help our clients with their decorating needs. Nadia taught us how to incorporate floral-type design elements into balloon sculptures to make a dazzling impact – just check out the beautiful “Mardi Gras” mask centerpiece below.
Here are some of Nadia Azar’s designs…she taught us the secrets for producing these beautiful works of art,
so if your San Antonio event could use something along these lines, let us know!! Call us at (210) 734-9860 to discuss how Balloonamations can help make your next event extra memorable!
NOTE: All these designs were created and built by Nadia Azar

Balloonamations is rapidly becoming one of San Antonio’s most dynamic balloon decorating teams! Balloon decorations can be used to create amazing colors and shapes, setting the perfect mood for all kinds of events-
- Proms
- Weddings and Wedding receptions
- Quinceneras
- Bar Mitzvah
- Bat Mitzvah
- Grand Openings
- formal receptions
In an effort to become event better balloon decorators, we have attended the World Balloon Convention in Dallas earlier this year, and a workshop with Melissa Vinson also in Dallas. Here are just a few of the things we have learned to build for your special event!
First, is this awesome 3-tiered chandelier. We can always change the colors to match your theme, but you get the idea.
Next, how about this beautiful “Reflection Arch” – perfect for a prom, wedding reception or Quincenera.
Melissa also showed us her design for a balloon cake/candles/arch, sure to make any birthday or anniversary “pop”!
The final design we picked up from Melissa is this awesome column, great for a wedding or Quincenera.

What a ride! Balloonamations has been providing Spurs fans with awesome balloons since 2003 Â — that’s a LOT of games, NBA playoff series, 3 NBA Championships, and special events. We have a blast working at the AT&T Center, creating balloon parodies of the famous Spurs Coyote
As we begin yet another NBA playoff series (round 1 will be against the Utah Jazz), we invite you to come out and support our Spurs. There are a variety of activities for you to enjoy besides the basketball game — there are face painters, dance teams, a DJ, a live band, the Spurs store, and of course some fabulous balloons! This year they have the Games 2 U truck for your gaming enjoyment, as well as a couple of moon bounce houses.
So — dress up in your best Spurs outfit, and come on out to the AT&T Center to cheer on Tony, Tim, Manu and the rest of our fantastic Spurs team. See you there!

Spring is in the air, flowers are blooming and the Easter Bunny has been spotted in San Antonio!
A costumed character can make any event extra-special — especially when you get photos of the kids with the character! We are increasing our selection of costumes, so if you need  the Easter Bunny, or a really goofy monkey, a funny clown, give us a call.
PLEASE REMEMBER: These costumes get really hot for the performer….please have shaded and/or air conditioned areas if you plan on having them for more than just a couple of minutes.
ALSO NOTE: the performer will not be able to see very well, and the gloves will prevent them from providing either balloon art or face painting. If you need these services, and additional performer is usually required.

We know how busy we can all get during the Thanksgiving to Christmas season – we have been so blessed to be a part of so many fantastic holiday events. We enjoy providing balloons and face painting for all the birthday parties, office parties, corporate Christmas parties, but the thing we enjoy most are those clients we get to see every year!
We hope you can find some time to really reflect upon the reason we celebrate this time of year, and that your home and business are blessed with laughter, smiles, hugs and good cheer.
Thank you all for letting Balloonamations be a part of your celebrations during 2011, and pray that you are all blessed greatly during this and every year.

Deco-Twisting …. huh?!

People often wonder what to call this of us in the balloon entertainment industry. Here are the most common categories (as I see it)…. There are basically four types of balloon entertainers out there.
First, you have the basic “balloon twister” — someone who usually has a couple of dozen balloon designs that they can crank out really fast. They often do not have the time, or the inclination, or the ability to learn new stuff, since they can usually make people happy with what they have learned.
Next, you have your balloon decorators — people that can produce some amazing designs with round balloons and foil balloons. You’ve probably seen some beautiful columns, arches and canopies this type of artist can produce. They often are called on for large projects, like weddings, High School proms and dances, etc.
The third category of balloon entertainment are the balloon artists –Â We here at Balloonamations have moved WAY past just making simple balloon designs. Some of our pieces could actually be considered works of art!
The final category are the deco-twisters — people who have combined the balloon art and the balloon decorating concepts. If you ever saw the TV show “the Unpoppables”, this is what they were involved in.
Balloonamations has dived into this last category, incorporating some advanced balloon art into some larger balloon decorating events. Picture a half-dozen 6′ tall Pink Flamingos; or life-sized people and vehicles, balloon dresses, etc.
Got a decorating challenge for us? Call us to see what we can conjure up for your next occasion!

We recently had the opportunity to go out and make some incredible balloon creations for a group of local San Antonio Spurs fans. This event, held at the Stone Oak Lion & Rose, was sponsored by the San Antonio Magazine and was attended by a bunch of crazy Spurs fans. Also on hand – Brad and Barry Klinge were taking time out from hosting Discovery Channel’s “Ghost Lab” show. And, the most awesome team mascot in the world – the Spurs Coyote – was on hand to delight and amuse the fans.
So, if the NBA ever decides to play ball, and if the Spurs decide that their fans deserve the best balloon makers in San Antonio, we will see you at the game!!

Anyone who has used our services usually gets a customized “Thank You!” card from us . The card may have had a photo of your event, or more likely, a photo of the balloon sculpture we created for your event. And I’ll bet you and your family smiled and maybe laughed at when you received that card.
For those of you who wondered how we produce those unique greeting cards, here is our secret – SendOut Cards. This system allows us (or anyone else involved with SendOut Cards) to upload digital photos, add some text, and create a card the says “Thank You!” in  mere minutes.
SOC allows us to keep an online database of all our important clients, so it is very easy to keep in touch with someone. If you don’t have a digital camera, or just don’t want to create your own cards, you can choose from about 18,000 cards SOC has in its online catalog. This catalog contains cards for nearly every occasion imaginable.
SOC also allows you to make some extra cash, if that is more your cup of tea.
If you are curious about the SendOut Cards system, go to www.sendoutcards.com/15878/ Â and check it out. Watch the 3 minute video, send a free card, and let me know if I can get you started with SendOut Cards! And again – “Thank You!!”
