Yes it’ s that time of year again – Halloween! We have fun making seasonal balloon sculptures all year long, but Halloween really let’s us cut loose with some silly, spooky, scary stuff!
We get incredibly busy at this time of year — along with the multitude of birthday events, we also get hired to provide balloons and face painting for tons of fall/Halloween events. What this means to you, is that we may have a tough time putting your event into the schedule over the next 5-6 weeks. If you have an occasion coming up, please call us ASAP!
Now for the fun stuff. Here are some photos of things we have made for past Halloween events. The creepy green hand coming out of a box while holding a dislodged eyeball (the photo to the right) is our latest spooky creation. Scroll down for more photos.

it’s another!
Our other two sites BalloonDecor-SA and BalloonBouquets-SA were hacked a couple of weeks ago, and we finally got them back in operation yesterday. Now our phone system is giving us fits! We apologize if this situation requires us to call you back several times, or have you repeat information back to us several times.
We hope to have all of our digital woes under control in just a few days. You can still book events with us, still get quotes for our services – whatever you need (balloon-wise) we are still able to communicate in numerous ways.
The Balloonamations team continues to come up with new or improved designs…here is one of Ernie’s passions, a really cool jet fighter.
Here is an example of an improvement of a design — this Leprechaun is a lot more interesting……
than our previous attempt (which is still pretty good)
Outdoor events – balloons, face painting, wind and sun

Spring is one of the nicest times to be in San Antonio, TX! Because the weather is so nice, people are starting to have a lot of their events outdoors. Here are a few things to consider if you plan on hiring our entertainers at your outdoor event.
- Texas is WINDY! Wind picks up light objects (like the awesome balloon creations we can make) and tosses them onto the ground. Balloons do NOT survive most impacts with the ground, and there is often a lot of tears when this happens. SOLUTION – bring some extra trash bags to place the balloons into. You can also elect to put the balloons into the car/truck you came in.
- Heat is another problem for balloons — and balloon artists, and people waiting in line for balloons, too! Our balloon artist and face painters prefer flat, shady spots to work in, and your guests will appreciate it, too.
- Wind also tends to dry out the paints our face painters use. This causes them to stop and add moisture to their palettes, which slows them down a bit.
- Also, our balloon decorations do very poorly when placed outside in the Texas sun and wind. Columns and arches oxidize quickly under these conditions, and the balloons look “faded” or “washed out”. Bright sunlight causes the balloons to expand, with a lot of them popping as a result. And of course the wind can make a real mess out of any outside decor, especially arches and helium balloons on strings.
Enjoy the out doors and the wonderful Spring weather – and give a thought to where you can best use our services. Hope to hear form you soon!
2013 Price Guide

We are introducing new a new price structure for 2013!
One of the biggest issues facing the balloon and face painting industry is that we rarely have enough time to produce our best work. Everyone waiting in a line for balloons or face painting wants the coolest, biggest, neatest stuff — and we usually have to tell them “Sorry, I just don’t have enough time to build that/paint that for you,” or “if I do that for you everyone else will want one, too”
This issue is the result of several factors. First, the paying customer wants to get the most quantity for the buck. Next, there are usually 12-20 kids invited to each event – hence, 3-5 minutes can be spent on each balloon sculpture or face paint. The one hour constraint is often self-imposed, but there are venues where we work that dictate this factor. And finally, we as entertainers want your business, and if we tell you we can only handle about 6-8 kids per hour, you will probably look elsewhere.
So, we are constantly learning cool new balloon concepts, and awesome new face painting designs, and we are usually just itching to build /paint them at our next event! But, if it is a typical party, we will arrive to find the 14 kids we thought we would be entertaining has turned into 22 or so kids (and some of the adults want something, too!), we sigh and start building our standard (still cooler than most anyone else in town can produce) designs – fast and cute. Most everyone is happy, except for the few “Sorry, I don’t have enough time” cases. And off we go.
Our new Pricing Guides offer 3 packages to choose from.
The “Cool” package is our standard, 15 kids per hour, everyone gets something pretty cool to take home deal. The Birthday Child get the coolest face painting or the coolest balloon sculpture.
Our “Wow!” package is designed for 20 kids, and gives the artist 2 hours to work. This package lets the artist do some really detailed balloon art or face painting. Birthday child again gets the most awesome balloon creation or face painting design. This level also includes a balloon column OR balloon centerpiece in colors that complement your event decor. (The balloon decoration piece will be delivered at the same time the artist shows up.)
The “Awesome!!” package is just that – 3 hours, 25 kids, and each one of them gets the most awesome balloon creation or face painting designs we know how to create. The Birthday Kid gets an awesome balloon sculpture AND the most amazing face painting design. At this level you also get a very nice balloon column AND a cool balloon centerpiece in event colors. (The balloon decoration pieces will be delivered at the same time the artist shows up.)
So, for the “let’s get as many people through the line as possible” people, we recommend the “Cool” package. For the “we have an longer event, and would like some nicer creations for our guests,” the “Wow!” package might be for you. And for the “we want the absolute best for our guests” — the “Awesome!!” package is the one for you.

Thanks to all of our clients who asked us to create some really cool balloon decorations for them. Here are a few examples of what you can expect from Balloonamations.
We don’t just “stack” balloons — we create amazing art out of balloons! This arch and column set were built for Ron Hoover RV, and were on display at the San Antonio RV Show (Jan 2013)
For the second year in a row, the people that bring the Monster Truck Show here to San Antonio found us, and hired us for face painting  — but they also wanted a couple of these for the “Party in the Pits”…..
We also recently were called upon to provide a face painter, a balloon artist and a few balloon decorations like this spiraling balloon arch for a client.
If you need to cover a a large area, why not use balloons and get your company name/logo out there? We can use a variety of techniques to make your ideas “POP!”
This balloon wall was on display during a recent MCCI/Humana health fair
So, when your event requires traditional balloon decorations, or our special “deco-twisting” designs, please give us a call. We will make sure your event “pops”!
